Yes, it's been done before. Check out the YSR50.com forum. There are many posts of different variations of motor transplants, with success, I may add. One being my YSR (sold), or better known as a Yerbicati (YSR w/ a 72cc Derbi/Metrakit/Ducati motor) |

Yeah, the DT mutated in to the Blaster and others. Lots of the old Yam dinger singles (Dingles?) use a rear mount that's great for Yowser swaps. But... You could likely off the DT's on Marks to more of a collector type, and track down a RD125 twin

You will either need to modify the YSR rear hanger to fit/mount the rear of the DT175 motor or have one fabricated. If you don't have fabricating skills, I suggest calling around local machine and or bike shops that like to tinker on such projects to help you ge tteh project done. The only dilemma I can see is finding an exhaust that will work well with the DT175 motor and fabricated to fit the YSR.......unless you know a local pipe builder that can alter or make the exhaust. There is a guy on the YSR50 site named RMWilson that has done this conversion and possibly offer some suggestions for an exhaust that will give you decent (or better) performance.......compared to the true performance of an exhaust specifically made for that motor.
