Yamaha YSR 50

Just checking the local craigslist and saw this, shouldn't this bike be going for a lot more? Anways I figured I'd post it up for you guys

I dont follow the YSR's closely but from what i understand prices have fallen dramatically in the last few years.......

that bike is janky and is far from a deal. has no farrings and probably doesn't have a title. not worth 600

YSRs are raced all the time without fairings. Hell, the Toomey pipe is worth at least two bills, the engine another three. If that bike was near me I would buy it in a second at that price. Introduce it to some soap and water, put some fresh rubber on it, and you could turn it around for $850 minimum.

Check it out to see if it is in good running condition, look for crankcase seal leaks and any signs of recent wrenching on the bike. (scuffed up bolt heads) if you see any of that then you know that it has been worked on and may have some hidden problems. Ask the owner if any work had been done recently and if he says no walk away.
Bike looks good otherwise and fairings are only $200 away

This is the deal I found, a 1989 rolling frame for $50.00 a little bit rusty and pitted forks but it's a good project frame (XR100 or YZ80 swap)...
