Re: Maybe the ultimate NSR Big Bore Kit?

has anyone ever considered building their own kit? stroker crank, custom piston and a bored cylinder ... port and nikasil it and smoke the competition.

its not open heart surgery, many companies can make an offset crank pin ... two stroke pistons arent terribly hard to get made either ... maybe someone in the us can jump on it and make it a kit?

The Kit also comes with an NGK ER8EH "R" Series plug....

I understand what a woodruff key is and why it's used. But I didn't see any mention in your post of a different crank or rotor being used. That said, do you have to modify the the keyway in the stock NSR crank to accept this special woodruff key?

I dont think so ,But as i said "I am no wrench" I am just stating what comes with the kit....I am not as certain of the details as to the installation of said parts..........

There are a few reasons not to run a 80cc engine in the USA,Parts availability being one of them,They are getting rare even in japan and everything is more expensive for them Bore Kits,Exhaust etc etc.Hell American Honda still has 1990 NS50F parts laying around, A lot of stuff for the ACO8E is as close as my local Honda dealer...........Plus the fact if need be i can get a brand spanking new ACO8E motor, You cant do that with the 80cc.............

Yeah I guess you're in a different situation in terms of availability, still from the specs on the kits you've got there sounds pretty fast stuff!

I have to say I got lucky and picked up two never run 80cc motors recently for my projects from bikes which were stripped for parts.

Cool Re: Maybe the ultimate NSR Big Bore Kit?

Not run an NSR 80cc.
What are you saying? The base and head gaskets and honda over bore pistons can be bought from Risingsuncycles.
The piston is the same as a 1982 CR80 but the Cr has an intake skirt cut out Wisco 450 series.
The crank is the same stroke 41.4mm
The cluch has 4 frictions but you can put a CR80 cluch in it.
The only thing that you have to do is bore out your cases and get an NSR 80 cyelnder and head the bolt patern is the same.Use the base gasket to mark your cases and open up the transfer ports.
Yes this is a step by step on how to make it an 80cc nsr.
I can machine the cases if you send them stripped down bare(NYNSR you need to pimp the cc's)I remember a post that said that you are going the split the cases.Just for NCYSR I have an NSR 80 top end (piston pin score in the wall). that can be bored out for a 100cc big bore Get one of the piston and gasket set ups from a Japan site and really pimp it 2 times the cc's for the pimp factor we all know that you have the blig covered.

Yup you're on the money!!

I've seen both NSR80 cylinders and CR80 cylinders being fitted to NSR50 cases. Does involve welding new material and machining but can be done for sure. The nice thing about the 80cc block is it has a bridged exhaust which is great for getting additional port area.

Also you can get nice aluminium nickasil cylinders with awesome porting to play with. The big bore setup has the nice grunt so you can really power up hills and stuff!!
