Re: NSR50 Inverted Forks

John,

Those are actually KSRII forks that Takegawa repackages. You can get a nicer setup by using G-craft triples, KSR110 fork legs and a G-craft caliper adapter for a 4 pot brembo.

Oops Wrong button, Would that cost more than the Takegawa variant?

Probably cheaper when it's all said and done. However, if I was to upgrade forks on an NSR50, I'd go with the RS125 (early) inverted forks and Gcraft triples.

RS125 fork legs - Find 'em used or steal them. New RS125 forks won't work without modification due to the radial brake hanger. You want the pre 1995-2002 units.

Wouldn't you still have to cut down the forks.. 125 forks are a lot longer.

Re: NSR50 Inverted Forks

I'll have to dig up the numbers I found, RS125 forks aren't actually much longer than NSR50 units...

Pre 1994 (35mm conventional I think) 550mm
Post 1994 (37mm USD) 620mm

So a couple inches longer.

Re: NSR50 Inverted Forks

Depends entirely on the application. On an NSR50, shouldn't be, just gotta raise the forks in the clamps a touch.

The KSR's are long as well. If I did not have clipons, my ZB would be a chopper.

Wont it look kind of funky with too much sticking up above the clip ons?

Here's how it panned out. BTW, KSR's are very soft out of the box.

Re: NSR50 Inverted Forks

Do KSR forks have adjustable rebound and compression damping or is it just the wow factor of having USD forks ?

Re: NSR50 Inverted Forks

They can be tuned to work well. Ray at RJP installed the preload adjusters, new springs and some valve work. At 200 lbs, they are otherwise far to soft. No adjustments out of the box.
