slightly off topic: NSR 150

I just bought a Thai model NSR 150 SP. Anyone know anything about them? I've heard the factory rating is 39 hp is "optimistic." Anything else?

Re: slightly off topic: NSR 150

Hey nice bike there!!

Yeah great ride and potential, if you tune a sweet toy! The cast swingarm is cast aluminium alloy, which even though heavy sure looks cool!!

Er.... the HP thing!!! Yup she's a tad over rated on Thai the spec sheet there! My mate had one and while quick wasn't that quick, especially since another had a 34hp Aprilia RS125sp which was a level up for sure! The Honda has a 28mm carb vs the 34mm on the Priller which kinda gives a clue.

Anyway it became more apparent when the HRC brochures for the NSR150sp racer came out and the (crankshaft) power was listed as 31 @ 10,500 rpms, which by the whole seat of the pants thing felt more realistic!

But for sure a very sweet bike and you can still get nice tuning parts for it. I've actually got the whole rear swingarm/wheel assy in boxes for a project I'm working on, which is a popular mod for bikes in SE Asia. Look forward to seeing pics!!

I pick her on this weekend, so I'll make sure to update you shortly thereafter. If she hits anywhere near the reported 180km/h I will be very happy.

If someone can help me locate a sales brochure I'd be happy to compensate you for your time and shipping.

Hey I have a few different brochures, but want to keep them. When I get a chance can scan them for you if you want a copy.

Have HRC brochure, SP and RR versions from 1998 to 2000 or so.

Re: slightly off topic: NSR 150

Hey found the Thai brochures, not sure where the HRC one is, but will keep looking. The Thai has 37hp for RR and 39hp for SP, though it's total bs! Was cool though cause I found Japanese Honda bike show stuff from 91 and 93 (shame in Japanese) as well as original MH80 brochures!

So will scan the stuff soon.

Hey just emailed the scans though I hope the optimistic numbers don't work against you!

I've sent an old link with the 31hp used by HRC Japan which is more likely to be accurate!

Anyway hope it works out, will scan the HRC cat when I find it!

Just received the email, and these should be spot on! They'll help me when I look the bike over too.

Don't rain on my parade too much now, even 30hp should get the job done. Next step is CA street legal.
