Gpx 160 for sale

http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/b...Picture022.jpg

hey, have a gpx160 complete motor for sale.
roughly 10 hours on the motor.
sprockets were not aligned, and the counter shaft bearing is eaten up.
bearing is roughly $20.00 from the pisterpro web site...
What do you want to pay for it?
it runs great, you just have to bump start it.

Re: Gpx 160 for sale

I would have to add $50.00 for shipping. all that happened was my rear sprocket on the bike was not aligned with the sprocket on the motor, because i have a crf70 swing arm on the bike.

Having seen the inside of a bunch of these, some of which didn't need disassembly to do so, I'd want to see some well-taken photos of the right inner case, with clutch basket removed before spending money on it.

Just my .02, but a good value, I'd say

Re: Gpx 160 for sale

also, does it leak oil, the case wouldn't be tweaked would it, or gears sheared? Also how long was it run like this with the bearing eatin up?

Also when you say complete motor, that means: Wiring harness, oil cooler, carb ? I'm selling my old motor, so I need to know if I need to keep anything. I still want it as of now..

Firepower: What would it tear up on the right side? Is it commonly torn up when this happens? Worst thing is what? I have to buy new gear sets or cases?
When you say "didn't need disassembly," you mean to fix the bearing?

The right side on the countershaft has a poor bearing. They often break, taking the case half out in the process. Sprocket alignment will NOT cause this failure. The fix is a new case half kit, with countershaft, for $110. You may need more gears, if it's been ridden, and surely there would be metal throughout the motor. By "didn't need disassembly", I meant it shoved parts through busted cases so you could see the problem without turning a wrench... There are three with this failure in my shop, right now.

Re: Gpx 160 for sale

The motor doesn't leak oil, my mechanic and i took the right side cover off, pulled the fly wheel and everything off and examined it. i can take some photos and put them on Photobucket, and then put a link... i dont want to be screwing anybody over on this deal..... "firepower" tell me what you see, and with your experience of working on these motors, tell me what happened.... the only reasonable thing i could think of was that the sprockets weren't aligned.... but i could be wrong, it could be that crappy bearing..... and how hard is it to split the cases on this motor, because if nobody wants to buy it, then i might as well... (if i find some spare time) fix the motor.

Re: Gpx 160 for sale

the chain could have been too tight if it messed up the counter sprocket.
