My Mood: | GPX192 VS GPX165 V2 head
Well i had the time to test out one of NCC's new motor setups next to my race tested and GPx165 V2 head motor well to start off the setup on the 165 is the TB V2 head TB 28mm carb FMF 4.1 exhaust Gearing 16/37 and now the GPX192, TB28mm carb, FMF 4.1, stock head with light port job, gearing 16/37 1st test Drag race Off the line the GPX192 pulls off the line hard and put a good 1/2-3/4 bike on the GPX165 V2, slowly the GPX165 would catch up and by the top of 4th was about a tire ahead 2nd test on the track hands down the GPX192 Has MORE TQ, MORE MORE MORE !!! and in turn that makes it easyer to ride and faster around the track then the GPX165 V2. it dont have the topend pull of the GPX165 v2 but who needs it when you are 2x faster out of the corners ??!!?? the verdict = the GPX192 is fast and may not make the Peak HP of the GPX165 V2 but it is close, one thing it has over the GPX165 V2 is it flat out ownes it in the TQ department on the track the GPX192 i just faster there is no bog when you get in the deep loam or sand it just flat out pulls Last edited by mattmoto441; 05-21-2008 at 09:52 AM. |

18-19s maybe and for me i like the TB cam its a real good MX cam, its not all about Peak HP. a good TQ motor is a better MX setup and Peak HP is a motard setup HP sells TQ wins races

My Mood: | Re: GPX192 VS GPX165 V2 head Identical to what you have. I did two at the same time. I've got one with a 15mm pin and coated skirt too, for a Lifan 150/Daytona stroker crank and clutch cover swap.

I am not giving an unbias opinion, I am giving a review of both engines the were built at NCC, yes there is no secret that NCC is my dad, I am also not selling anything , just giving info on these combinations to show how they worked for me.Personally the 165 bikes is mine! The other is a friend of mine, many people offer their seat of the pants reviews of their rides, this is mine.

I feel the need to chime in here. Normally, I keep away from threads like this. But if you want to impress me as well as this PM community, there are only a couple of ways to do this, particularly on a review of motors: 1. Dyno, Dyno, DYNO. The proof is in the numbers. Post a dyno of the two motors, side by side and we can see the torque/hp curves. That's what I want to see since I want to put a big ol motor in my street bike. 2. Video the drag racing and/or the dyno runs. Its tough for me to get behind some of this stuff because so rarely are dyno's posted. And a motorcycle shop like NCC, that builds tons of really neat stuff, should have access to one. My advise...be the first vendor on this site to back up the claims and you'll get yourself the largest portion of business. |

A V2 would pick up that sleepy top end on that 192. How did they make a 192 with the yx150?

Who freakin cares if he is NCC's son? He's not hiding it. He is stating what he found from his riding the motors they just built. Someone sounds bitter that NCC has some cool motor options. |

I am not saying that you are telling us false claims I am saying that being the son of NCC is a thing that would be rather important to the reader,,, just as if I had my daughter come on here and blow up my disc brake set ups,,,,, it just doesn't hold as much credibility then if a customer of mine that has the brakes comes onto PM and coments on them good or bad! Believe me, the 192 motor has no need for someone to say it is fast becuase there is no replacement for displacement! But I would say that the V2 head on that bike will make an improvement over the stock head which is basically a Kitaco copy!
