How much land is needed

to make a decent enough sized minibike track? It might also be ridden occasionally by a full sized bike.

Will probably be more MX style - I don't have the coordination or timing for anything supercrossy (Starwest proved that). If there are wooded sections, then i'll mostly have the track runing through the trees.

Re: How much land is needed

you'd like some straights 150-200 feet long to stretch your throttle cable, plus some nice twisties. Jumps sprinkled everywhere and burmed up corners.

an acre is 208.7 x 208.7 feet.

You can do a lot with an acre, but 2 would be better. More land would mean a buffer from neighbors also. Trees, bushes and hills between you and them are the best.

So 20 wooded acres with the track in the middle would be sweet.

Start with a rough layout, then don't be afraid to abandone some and add new. Grass grows back fast.

Have fun!!

Re: How much land is needed

ive sn tracks built for the everyday rider in less then an acre that had about 10 tables in it and a few berms

then i have also riden a track that took up about 7 acres everything from a 10 foot table to a 90foot double

all the basic land needed is how much track you want you can have a blast on a track with 5 jumps on it i would but i would go 3 acres with tight turns long straights and one huge hit

Re: How much land is needed

Nice one, thanks very much for the replies people. Much appreciated.

For some reason, when I think about minibiking, I consider it more about having fun in wooded areas and zooming along through the trees as opposed to riding on a proper track. Don't ask me why I think this. lol

There isn't a set amount of land I have at the min, because I'm planning on building the track at a holiday home (in portugal) when it gets bought. But I'm making sure my folks buy a place with enough land for the track. So thanks to your replies I can show them all the properties with the most amount of land.

That's the great thing about pitbikes. You don't need much space to throw up a good track.

Re: How much land is needed

I built a track in my backyard. Search the Roost area for a thread called "Night Sesh at F-Town" and there are some action pics there. But heres an old overview pic of my whole track when it was a little grown up so you get the idea of how much space.

x2 .. we just built a track on a bout a acre through the woods... completely hiddin its actually called wild willies hidden valley but its plenty big enough to open up the mods and pushes the stockers to the limit. so i say a acre also minimum
