Geeze wuts up with all the 2 stroke haters. I don't see why kids with 65s should be segregated from a day of fun. No one is getting harmed by adding a kids 2 stroke class to the race. I say go for it. Pros.

because it is a pitbike race and IMO in the past kids could take part but they rode pitbikes.

I don't want the kids complaining about the track.

My Mood: | Re: MiniSx09 2 Stroke Classes Not trying to stir up an argument, but whats a Factory BBR bike? Most certainly not a "pit bike". BBRs and LXRs are just as much motocross bikes as 65s are IMO. If we can add one more class to this event, why not? The more the merrier. Just my point of view.

| Re: MiniSx09 2 Stroke Classes
I have a KX65 and a small wheeled KX100 myself. I would absolutely LOVE to see a stroker class at the SX! In addition, I'd like to see "Adult Mini" classes consisting of 100cc two stroke, and 150cc four stroke MX bikes at the big bike races. As far as the two stroke MXers being competitive with the built four strokes on pit bike tracks? It'll be tough with an adult on it. I've raced my 65 in an experimental fashion at our local pit bike races, and here's what I found.... Unless the track has longer straightaways where the strokers' top end can make up for the lack of low end that it has out of turns-- it's no advantage, more of a disadvantage if anything. On longer, faster tracks with bermed turns-- it's alot better. If everyone is on the strokers-- it would be a great thing as long as the kids aren't allowed to race their 65's. Make it 16+. If this were to happen, we'd start to see some development with the 65/85 two strokes as pit bikes. The benefit would be the low cost bikes that would be available. They wouldn't make the 4 strokes a thing of the past, they would just add an option for guys that may have a 60/65/85/100 collecting dust in their garage. I think it's about time. Get 'er done Gary!! |

an lxr with full linkage tuned race bike is FAR from a pitbike if you ask me a true pitbike in my opinion is stock mini racing, not a hopped up 20+ horse power professional race bike with slightly smaller wheels and frame but at the same time a 50cc 2 stroke is going to mop the floor with a 50cc 4 stroke |

Refer to MBR, their 65 class had a great turn out in that summer series. 65s are by no means considered a pit bike but since they're still minis, and the track would suite them well, why waste a stacked class just cus their not mini 4 strokes. The 65 class in the MBR series was a lot of fun to watch how competative those kids got. I didnt feel they harmed the series in any way.

2 stroke classes is a good thing to add for kids classes, you get more bikes, parents end up bring those pit bikes with to ride themself and that way you grow the sport, those little ones end up wanting a pit bike and there again you got the sport to grow.
