MMSX Rule Clarification/Track Design

To Clarify:

All riders will be allowed to compete in multiple classes; however any rider who finishes on the podium of an Amateur Class (1st, 2nd or 3rd) will not be allowed to finish on the podium of anExpert Class (1st, 2nd or 3rd). If this happens, the Expert Class#1 Plate & Prize Money will be awarded to the next place rider in the respective Expert Class. This unwritten rule has been in effect since the inception of Maxxis MiniMotoSX and is now in black & white.

Re: MMSX Rule Clarification/Track Design

If you sign up for Expert you should NOT be able to sign up for Amateur class.
That would be a cherry picking mother F&cker........

thats my 2 cents!!!!!!

What about the 8" vintage class.. Several pro/expert guys are racing that class for fun and to gain a little track time... If one were to place on the box 1st. 2nd or 3rd, and by some chance they happend to get a podium spot in one of the expert classes.. It would not count?

They would have to forfeit one of the classes and I am assuming they would choose to forfeit the Amateur class.

Im guessing if you were pro/expert and doing it for fun then you wouldnt win.

Re: MMSX Rule Clarification/Track Design

I don't understand why you would allow a rider to sign up as a amature and expert? that is sanbagging. unless it is so some other companies can get on the podium by cheating??? hmmmm....

DNR has a very good point though about the 8" class and expert, i think the rule should be voided if there is no expert class for that bike class.

Re: MMSX Rule Clarification/Track Design

well when I found out about the class from a few industry guys telling me it will be so much fun and guys like willy b, Tyson Clark, costella and a few others were gonna ride it.. I dusted of the old z and signed up. Never even crossed my mind about the whole amature deal.. I agree, if there was conflict. Experts should not have BEen allowed to sign up.. Then there wouldn't be an issue.. Lots of time and money has been put into this class by more than just myself. To find out about this so called unwritten rule 3 weeks before the race really sucks.. But, as long as the race can be tossed if one were to finish on the podium, it is all good.. I'm not gonna worry about. Go race and have fun, whatever happens, happens!!

That means if a pro wins stock mod then they forfeit it if they win 10e or 12e?

Re: MMSX Rule Clarification/Track Design

the title says Track Design, so I will ask

did they/you ever come up with a minimum lane width? I know they were not following AMA rules with the 2009 first track layout, but what are the widths on this new track layout?

I seriously can't find any info in that huge thread about the first layout....

Re: MMSX Rule Clarification/Track Design

its all about making more money.....

they dont care about sandbaggers they just want to put as much money from entries in their pockets as they can.

common sense right?

Actually it is a rule to detour pros from going into the stock mod class (Or any other amature class) by taking away the Pro Class win not the amature win. If they took away the amature win they wouldn't really care that much,, but if they take away the pro win (Which pays them a payout) they wouldn't make any money, therefore most pros are going to stay out of the am classes.

Re: MMSX Rule Clarification/Track Design

You guys are all worrying for nothing. As of right now there are no top expert guys even signed up for any amateur classes. I only have a few doing an expert class and an amateur class... Trust me these Expert guys are not going to want to forfeit there EXPERT CASH!!!!

Call me if you guys want to talk 877-912-7243 I will be in and out of the office all day long...
