Re: i was at Rocky Hill and it's perfect!

You guys must ride in some SERIOUS crap! Although I was hoping for a quick game of Bocce.

The track was good... but 'perfect' is a right bold statement! I suspect that RH rd 2 in late summer will be close to perfect assuming there is no rain the whole week prior.

Re: i was at Rocky Hill and it's perfect!

dude, really? are you kidding me? ruts are part of mx...and the deeper and gnarlier the better. if you want a groomed track all perfect everytime so you don't have to work at it, so a mmsx contract only....that track was perfect, dirt was nice and tacky, didnt slide just gripped real nice and a lot of good deep ruts to choose your lines with. kudos to the MoM team for a great day of new england riding once again!

Yeah.. really.

First of all.. to everyone else who is still being entertained by this thread.

I had fun and the track was pretty good. I commend Tony on the efforts he puts out, especially for the mini races.

That said.. the track was NOT perfect.

Perfect is a nice sand/loam surface with a firm base. Not a 1 lined marshmellow surface that goes from mud to dust in 3 feet and makes you think you're dragging a brake. It's not a surface with foot deep ruts on the face of a jump.

Yeah, we all had to ride the same track, and yeah, everyone had fun (I think) but using your own logic "if you want a groomed track all perfect everytime so you don't have to work at it" last years mud fest was the penultimate!

i agree on your point.. definately a good day of racing but the track itself wasn't mint and it was pretty one lined and if you dared to take a different rut that you weren't familiar with it may shift your bike unexpectedly like it did to me everytime i tried a different line...

i bet the larger bikes with the nice suspension and better ground clearnace liked the track alot but on a limited bike it really was just ok... most of the jumps were to big and the whoops were definately on the big side also.

hopefully with a little constructive tips in this thread he can make a couple changes next time we go there and make the track alot better.

I think the track was awful spungy rutted out **** hole. jumps to big and a whole ****load of cheaters in the kamakazi class that nobody does anything about. if u wanna have fun at a mom event u have to have a 10000 dollar bike for the tracks they take us to.

watering it made it even better than perfect. i loved the perfect gelatinous whoops and the perfect corner that followed them. not to mention the perfect quicksand hole in the start straight. everything was perfect.

Good first post. Now tell us how you really feel.
I was there as a spectator. My thoughts are this, Dave and his crew are incredible they just get it done race after race. The weather before the race did not do the track any favours. The jumps need to be a little more thought out.
Whatever.

not the best way to get things done.... we all rode the same track and it has nothing to do with being a pussy. ya gotta speak up if you aren't happy with something and it seems some people didn't like the track. i don't really see how that makes someone a pussy? could you maybe explain a little better?

jumps to big???????? how they were being hit on stock 110s and ruts are part of riding you gotta deal with it and stop complaining like a little bitch its all part of riding...they did an awsome job on the track considering we had rain earlier in the week

im pretty sure riding at that track was better then not having anywhere to race so the next time you want to complain about a track think about what you have to ride in your back yard.....probaly nothing so give the guys a pat on the back instead of OH can you fix this and so what if im 17 i guess that means im more mature and appreciate what i have to race on

Re: i was at Rocky Hill and it's perfect!

IM talkin about the kid on the bbr bike that has a an aftermarket carb a bbr frame and whateva else he has, and all the people runnin klx 140 carbs that look like stock but are bigger. They need some tech inspection at mom. If u have a legal bike and are winning than ur a good rider, if u have a cheater bike and still cant win thats the definition of a pussy!!!!!

Re: i was at Rocky Hill and it's perfect!

to both dirtmobile46 and minirider54,

yes riding that track is better then having nothing at all. what happens if you guys go to an event and you dont like the track. if you came on here and made some good points about the track and maybe some improvements how is that a bad thing... i don't understand how just putting my opinion out there makes me a whining complainer that doesn't appreciate anything... don't you think for a quick second davo and tony want feedback so they can make the appropriate changes for the next round... or should we all just be quiet and hope they can read our minds...

if i remember correctly davo always says that this moms series is what we make of it so if we the riders can give him some feedback to make it better that is exactly what the owner of the series wants... again really confused about the shutup and be happy with what you got mentality.
