Judging by Katie's facebook status she's in rough shape, I know she was racing at Steel City and judging by what I read something didn't go as planned..

Oh My God, I hope he is going to be ok, i cant even imagine what happened to have that amount of injury.

I can't believe it. Katie is definitely one of my favorite people at a MoM event. Man, I hope she's ok. Mandy is going to be devastated.

I can't believe getting roosted by a rock did all that damage to her. It must have been a huge. Mandy has been messaging her on FB and she seems to be in good spirits. I felt sh*tty all day wondering how it could have happened. She's such a nice kid. I hope her surgery goes well tomorrow.

it happened from a roost shot. that is awful. i feel so bad, katie is the reason why im racing rocky hill. she was just so nice and she made me feel welcome at marshfield.

I wonder if she fell and someones tire came in contact or real close contact with her helmet?? :/

I just spoke to Katie. She sounds pretty good! A little slurred speech which you would expect with that much swelling and pain meds. She said a rock the size of a softball hit her in the goggles and didn't even break the lens. She added that she didn't even fall. She stopped when her goggles filled with blood and she couldn't see. She has 15 fractures to her upper jaw, nose, eye socket etc. Her right eye should be ok, but may have slight issues with focus and alignment. Her surgery is tomorrow (wednesday) and she should be home by Friday. She's bummed about missing the rest of the season! She's going to let me know how the surgery goes later tomorrow.

Wow that's crazy! Hope the surgery goes well, i thought it had to do with handle bars when i heard about the injuries, never thought a softball size rock could do it, recover soon K.Cyr and to everyone else out there-be carefulllllll
