My Mood: | Rules Question
If I have a KLX 140, and put a 12" rear wheel on it with a 14" front...could I ride it in the Fatboy class, or middle-aged class?

The regular classes are based on CRF/XR/Z 50 chassis and KLX 110 chassis. If it doesn't fall into one of those two you may have to run it in the playbike class. The rules are on Masters of Mini Masters of Mini Matt |

I just realized you're from Missouri. The above post may not apply to your local series.

Yes...our directors are using your series as an example. They claim that the rules of MoM do not contain information that would prevent a cradle frame bike w/ upright motor from racing in the pitbike classes. They say a KLX 140 w/ 12" rear wheel and 14" front wheel is a pitbike. So I'm trying to find out what the consensus is w/ the MoM.

Tell your guys we are flattered that they are using the Masters of Mini as a model. They may want to reach out to discuss this further - if so email me davidwolcott@gmail.com But here is the basics - we view a pit bike as the following: open cradle frame 4 stroke air cooled So your 140 may b=not qualify under the letter of the law That being said - we look at this more for fun than set in stone rules - so I would let you run the Fat Boy and Age classes for MoM if you had the appropriate wheel sizes, which you said you would do. I do not see any clear advantage to your frame/motor configuration. Hope this helps |
