Wow, nice work! I always wondered if would make sense to try to find a frame and start from scratch. It seems you would replace most parts on a custom build, but it's a the little things that add up. If you never owned a Ruckus, I guess it would make it hard to build one from scratch.

I like the NSR wheels, what are the other aftermarket parts or brands you used? What seat frame, frame extension, shocks, brakes etc?

Thanks

Thanks,
If I was to do it again, i would try to find a beater and rebuild it because like you say, once you buy all the nuts, bolts, etc. etc., you will have spent as much as a used ruck and spent more time waiting on parts.

The only advantage of this route is you know everything is new and in good working order.

It's a 2004 front frame, 2003 rear frame, 2007 engine swinger with the following mods:

Engine:

Keihen PC20 carb kit
Polini Variator
OEM honda 6.1 gram weights
Daytona Belt
NGK ignition wire
JCR lightened flywheel
Posh Racing CDI
BSS quick turn throttle
Leo Vince Exhaust system
Blue clutch springs

Chassis / Body:

Kijima frame extention kit
Kijima low seat frame
Daytona frame brace w/ folding pegs
Polished frame / variator cover
Kijima front fender(bobbed)
MSR billet bar clamp
Spoon Onihan low handle bars
Progrips Gel grips
CRG blindsight mirror
Stage 6 Kickstarter
Kijima coolant tank / cap (powdercoated black)
Kitaco side stand
JDM left hand control(push cancel)
Waypoint rear LED rear brake light / blinkers
Hotbodies LED front turn signals
SJ taillight / license plate bracket
PWJDM carbon gas tank cover
PWJDM carbon radiator guard
PWJDM carbon mud guard
Takagawa Speedometer/RPM guage
AEM uego wideband controller
Pingel red anodized dip stick
Tokyo Parts frame plug
Kitaco water temp guage

Wheels / Suspension / Brakes:

Honda Dio wheels(powdercoated semi-gloss black)
Michelin Boppers(120/130)
KN Kikaku lowdown forks
KN Kikaku rear coilover shock
KN Kikaku 220mm slotted rotor and caliper
SS front brake line
Nissin Master cylinder w/ CRG brake lever

Re: post pics or your ruckus or zoomer

Thanks for the parts list, looks like you put some serious time and effort into this build.
Not to mention the the small cash investment : )
I appreciate your feedback on the frame vs beater starting point. I guess buying a complete bike would make more sense, and you could probably get back a large part of the investment on selling the "take offs."

They have some serious skills. Imagine being able to make your own parts or overcome any mounting/parts fitment issues by reworking an existing part! Awesome!

Scorpio, that ruckus looks bad ass. Love the wheels for sure. It totally sets off the bike in my eyes.
