Wurm's 08 NPS50S Build

Okay so I just found the new forum section and figured I'd contribute.

I purchased a new Ruckus last month at G & C Honda of Hammond, Louisiana for the retail msrp of 2050 plus TT&L. I have wanted one for a few years now but I have not been able to spare the change thanks to my addiction for the minis. I ran into a little cash and decided to take the dive, especially after watching fuel costs skyrocket over the past 2 years. My primary objective was to have a reliable vehicle that is neighborhood friendly, but I really enjoy the fact that there is a decent aftermarket selection of parts for this particular scoot. I look forward to seeing much more come out in terms of availability and I hope that I can resist the urge to get too crazy with it. I hope the stock motor will keep me happy for a while. Not looking forward to a motor swap for at least a few years. lol

Anyway.. here she is. This will be a slow build due to my piss-poor budget, but I hope to have a good outcome, and maybe my girl will ride with me now that I own a bike without a manual clutch or intimidating torque.

The last pic shows the Daytona clamp and drag bars. I am going to need shorter cables, but disc front brakes are in my plans anyway. I relocated factory the blinkers to where the reflectors used to be (had to widen the holes a bit) and shaved the blinker mounting tabs for a cleaner look. I also relocated the horn from the factory location to hidden inside the battery box. Forgive me..for I have no full bike pics yet, and it's pouring raining outside.

View from the drivers seat.

I need a speedo mount but I'm thinking of drilling a hole in the top of the battery box and flush mounting it. Again, I'll probably need a shorter cable, but that's not going to be a problem. I really just have to decide if I want to keep the stock speedo. I might end up getting a digital Takegawa unit instead.

Here's a few nice parts I picked up from Sanjuro over on TotalRuckus. He's a nice guy and he hooked me up with some great prices since I bought a few things. The black parts are all anodized aluminum and are excellent quality. Shown is the SJ radiator cover, intake filter bracket, and mudguard.

And here is the nice under-seat taillamp bracket with matching license plate mount. It installs with the use of two well nuts and offers a nice sleek look. I am undecided on which taillamp and rear winkers I will be using, but I do have a good idea. Just a matter of how much loot I want to drop this early on.

Wurms, I may be the only person who understands your multiple build logic : ) I must now get my Ruckus and play catch up.

Re: Wurm's 08 NPS50S Build

Pierce. I'd like to stay stock (already modded the intake and I'm in need of a re-jet).

Shw911. I wanted to get the 5 star Daytonas but yeah I might end up with Honda Dio wheels temporarily. I like how they look like baby NSR wheels. I might just buy a set and coat them Repsol orange.

The resta' you's guys. Thanks!
