| 70 Swinger and Forks Mockup pics
I threw my 70 swinger and forks on the 50 tonight. More of a mockup. I wanted to see how they would look. I need a longer chain and a longer brake rod. Need to figure out how to hookup the front brake and get the proper spacing on the back wheel. So far I like it. I think I'm going to paint the swinger and forks black. http://i702.photobucket.com/albums/w...0/IMG_2878.jpg |

I've got the same setup and painted both black. Its a much cheaper approach to getting a decent suspension.

I have picture up of when I first had it all mocked up, they are in my profile album. Now it looks a bit different with exhaust and some other goodies.. I going to assume you have atleast an 88kit on yours... Cant wait for the spring time to get riding again Last edited by codeman268; 12-26-2009 at 05:34 PM. |

here is mine, I had a cut off wheel so I cut down the welds on the stock 50 swing arm spacer thing. then I chiseled it off. welded it up clean and bam, done! ![]() ![]() then the finished product. I absolutely love it for bombing new terrain as I can soak up alot of stuff I come across. and it was cheap!

88 kit, manual clutch, and exhaust is on the list. How about some ideas/pics on rigging the front brake? |

I love my 70 forks, I bought them used on here and it was cheaper than buying a fork extender kit and perform far better than the stock forks. I put in some BBR HD springs and it was perfect. Best thing I did to my 50. My front brake is set up using a flat piece of steel that is maybe 6 inches long and is bent at a 90 near the bottom. It's bolted to the tab on the 70 forks where the brake cable clamp used to be. The other end where it's bent has a hole drilled through it where the brake cable bolts to. It's not the best set up, but it works good. There's pics in my profile of my bike where you can see how my brakes are set up. |

| brakes, what brakes!
if you look at mine its just a little 90 degree bracket with the brake cable threaded into it just like a stock tab. then I used a car V-belt to make the hose clamp stick when clamped. I have a front honda rukus arm, and the bike locks up fine. I think its the awesome hose clamp I used and the v belt is the perfect fit. ![]() |

Should I use the stock spacer from my 50 with the 70 swingarm on the rear wheel? (rear wheel is stock) I have the stock spacer installed now, but it sure looks cock-eyed to me, like the rear sprocket doesn't line up with the front sprocket. |

I haven't installed any type of spacer to the right of the rear wheel yet. I have the stock spacer from my 50 installed on the left side. With the wheel pushed all the way to the left (with spacer installed) it just doesn't look straight. I haven't put a straight edge to it yet though. Just eye-ballin it. I just wanted to confirm whether I should use the stock spacer from my 50 or if the 70 came with a different stock spacer that I should be using instead. Either way, I can make it work. |

Thanks LongMooie, that would be great. The shock is a lower end fast ace model, don't remember which one. It's definitely not for any type of hard core riding. Eye to Eye length is around 10.5 to 10.75. |
