bike revving hella high and have to turn off after i took apart carb

so this morning i washed my bike and then i decided tot ake apart the carb because it was giving me a little trouble with idling so i figured i should clean it out... put it all back together blah blah went to start the bike and it reved hella high and wouldnt stop so i had to turn off the bike, tried this a few more times, same thing, then i took off the carb to see if mabi soething had happened to the throttle cable but it didnt seem like it, mabi im wrong< anyone else have this problem before? what should i do to fix it? any input greatly appretiated

hey, it did the same to me when i was cleaning out my carb. Loosen the slack adjustment next to the throttle its under the rubber protector . Make sure the slide is in the carb correctly too. So loosen the throttle and tighten it up so you get a small abount of slack in the turn then adjust your idle accordingly. Good Luck

dam alright, i didnt mess witht he idle at all, hopefully its just the cable

my idle was fine until i took the carb apart, for some reason it seemed like the throttle cable was hanging up but the throttle still felt okay, im pretty sure its the adjustment for the slack in the throttle assembly. A couple of wrenches and 30 seconds and you should be good. Let me know what comes of this.

its just ur slide an throttle cable u kno
just keep spiinin the slide n all untill it falls right in there, you shouldnt force it down what so ever an if u do then u get that problem

i did let it slide right in... ill go let it slide in agian and fix the cable as well ill let you know if it fixes the problem

happened to me once.... turned out the cable was not sitting on top of the carb right and never let it fully close.
