hey so i just bout an irk off ebay for 45 bucks. has anyone had experience with these. are they worth the money? and if anyone knows how to install these things let me know.

they are a hit and miss, some have good luck some bad.

Its pretty easy to install them.... you will need a flywheel wheel puller... just lean the bike over to the kicker side when changing the plate so the oil don't leak all over the place.... and yea there hit and miss on whether they work as supposed to thats why its better to buy a used Kitaco IRK......

I have one in my cheap 110 and it works well but i had to play with it a bit to get it working rite and i was told you loose tork with it because of less mass spinning but it does rev faster let me know what you think if you install it

I liked the one on my 88. I also have one on my 108 and love it but put the reeg weight on because it was too easy to stall. PERFECT ON AN 88, you will love it.

The only reason an irk would make you blow valves is if you rode it like a road race engine. If its wide open throttle all the time i could see why. Most irk's dont have a rev limiter and allow you to go as high as the engine will go. You need to be aware of that and not rev it to the moon all the time...... Irk's are great if used in the right situations...
