HUGE newbie help 6'3 265lbs

Hello All,

I am a newbie to the site but I have a pretty close to stock crf/xr50. I am a pretty big guy and need to know what mods you recommend for me. I am 6' 3" and 265lbs. I've ridden a lot of fiddys before and the biggest issue i ran into was the fact that it wasn't tall enough for me to fit my legs on the pegs comfortably. I was wondering what size ext. swinger and forks you would recommend and also what shocks?

Thanks Ahead of Time,
Zach

Trade it for a Husky 610....you will not be happy with the cramped feeling ur getting with that stock frame (and u will bend it 1st time you get a couple feet of air) so I would suggest a larger frame...maybe even going up to a mid-size frame....an 88 or 108 kit would be in order to up the torque and a HD clutch....but if ya must stay with the Honda frame ya got to get a brace..some extended fork legs w/extra heavy springs..for bushings....tripple clamp/bar kit.aftermarket shock w/heavy spring...and a +2 swinger

OK,

What frame is recommended?
I was looking at BBR SP-5 or E-6 Forks, any good?
It has a 88cc kit on it now.
Is plus2" swinger best or should I get bigger?

No way would I waste the money on a small bike...go to a midsize...crf 70 or klx 110 style and you will be MUCH...MUCH better off.

Re: HUGE newbie help 6'3 265lbs

depends on the frame ya get actually...bigger the frame the bigger swinger ya can put on it...ya just gonna ned sumn stong and larger..I am only 5'9" and have a Tech 5 +1 frame and I feel crunched up on it so I know you are on a stocker...probabl be better off with a midsize clone...like a Medina it will have everything ya need ready to go..just xnsfer your engine...as far as how strong that frame is IDK...hopefully someone can chime in.......that set-up will be less than $1k

I'm the same size, or will be once I lose a little more weight You aren't likely to be able to make a 50 type frame comfortable enough to get around well on. Different tweaks for different freaks, but I'd off it for something a little roomier.
Maybe a 110, PP, or even a trick XR75 once I let the convince the rest of the hobby what a nostalgic riot they are

Actually swinger length depends on the length of the forks...the longer the forks the longer the swinger you'll need to keep it leveled. But yeah for your weight and size I would go with a mid size bike(70,110) IMO.

Then my pacemaker kicks in, and the ticker lights back off. Usually don't even need starting fluid.

Ok big guy im 6ft4" and around 215lb
a +1 frame helps alot with knee room (1" dont sound alot but it does make a huge difference)
if your keeping stock forks get the pro taper bar kit it has the most forward adjustment
BBR sp5s work well for the cost, but you will need 25 or 30wt oil
swing arm +2" if your keeping stock forks, +3 to +5" if going aftermarket
wide pegs are needed as is the HD mount, ive heard the BBR mount gives more room
A good rear shock fox and elka work well

I believe you can make fifty very comfortable. Bigger frame, tall seat, bar risers, tank/seat lift, lower pegs.

I was always crammed on my bike. I did the above (except for pegs) and now I feel like a have plenty of room. (I'm 5'11")

Personaly i think the taller seat foam is a waist of time for us LONG guys you end up sitting right at the back of the seat where its the same as stock!

Re: HUGE newbie help 6'3 265lbs

I agree on the tall seat, you sit straighter up but it puts your knees that much closer to the handle bars, I'm actually thinking of trading someone my tall seat for a stock seat.

And those frame risers look ghetto without your plastic on. that thing is rigged for sure.

Here is one pic I found with the plastic on. You can't really tell they're there except for the subframe area. I'm trying to think of a way to raise the subframe so the rear fender is supported more efficiently.

As said before, the taller you go on the seat or if you use frame risers the more your knees are gonna hit the handle bars. The CNC'd bar risers fixed that problem for me really nice.
