| TB 108cc kit / carb issues
I was so excited to get my 108 kit in the mail today. I ripped down everything and took tore the motor down, installed everything. Looks so good with that big head on there. Then i went to throw the motor back in the frame and with the TB carb neck the 26mm carb hit the tank and petcock... am i doing something wrong? Did i get shipped an old kit? old neck? will it not go in a stock 50 frame with stock seat and tank? Just really really frustrated now! Wondering if other people have had this issue. thanks, joel |

Nothing is wrong. All you need is a 12-way-adapter from CHP or DRATV. You may also need tank spacers so your throttle cable doesn't kink under the tank. 12_POSITION 10MM_HIGH MANIFOLD_TO HEAD ADAPTOR_KIT 22mm_ID (95K) temp |

I re-read your post and it sounds more like tank spacer issue

Its a modded stock frame... that 12 way might work xrmarty just curious why they wouldnt tell you in the description, something like this wont work on what it says it will or you need to get other stuff to make it work. |

the only time I see them say you may need tank spacers is when you buy a whole motor like GPX or Lifan. From the sound of it you may need both tank spacers and 12 way adapter. Play around with the carb attached to the throttle cable and to the manifold. Try to get the throttle cable between the tank and the frame. That should give you an idea if you have enough room for the throttle cable to make a nice, clean and wide swoop. If the throttle cable comes into the carb at too sharp of an agle (because of tank getting in the way) it'll effect the throttle action -- and you will need tank spacers also. |

i've seen people put the carb/intake on backwards so it faces forward. I dont know if it will work but you could try it and see how it works

^^^won't work on a fifty, at least I don't think. The forward set-up is on KLX 110's and other midsize minis.

Yeah i tried it backwards and won't work either. I think the tank spacers will be the way to go for sure. I will try something when i get home after work today. I am going to order the tank spacers and way. Anyone have a preference on spacers? or they just all the same just different company's?

You can make temporary spacers out sockets just to test it before you go and buy anything. |

Definitely, "mickey-mouse" something for now, at least to get you going with the motor installation. And it'll give you an idea if you need anything else. this size spacer was enough for me to get good clearance, you may need more or less: | |

just wondering but did the 26mm carb come with the 108 kit? i have the tb 108 too and i just have a 22mm carb on right now and it runs perfect, i tried the 24mm and it bogged a little too much for me. Let us know how it runs with the 26mm if you get it mounted, id like to see the difference in power all that extra air makes

On my old 50, I made tank spacers out of PVC piping. Hey it worked, and saved me money

all you gotta do is pull the tank off, mount the carb, run and secure the throttle cable to the frame, and reinstall the tank. theres no reason to space the tank
