Hmmm...I've always been under the impression that the dual-range transmission engines were not a plug-n-play fit, because of the different lower end configuration.

No way plug and play...dual range tranny, different bolt patterns, and 428 vs 420 chains.

no way, you must modify the frame to fit the tranny.. ive seen it slammed into the frame and not fit. plus with the 428 chain it would make it a PITA to fit a 428 chain on the 420 rear sprocket. |

Several years ago I put a 110 dual range engine in my atc70. It was a very easy fit. I used all the electronics from the 110. A 428 chain will fit on the 420 rear sprocket. The only thing I had to do was drill a hole for the rear engine mount. If I remember right it was 1" further back than the 70 engine. No issues with the dual range selector. The only drawback was the weight of the 110 engine.
