| ATC 70 Wiring help...
Ahh I hate having minis sometimes because every neighbor brings their new toy over that doesnt run or needs work expecting me to work on it! lol. Anyway This one I know will be fun once its going so I am excited about getting it going and riding wheelies around the neighborhood. Ok so its an atc70. Not sure what year because the year sticker is halfway gone so just the 19 and part of the 8 is there. But what I need to know first off is how to bypass the kill switch and on/off switch. Its not getting spark but it has good compression and is getting fuel. So I want to make sure its not a kill switch or something interfering. I have never messed with one of these and really dont know whats up with the wiring so any help will be greatly appreciated! I can post pictures if anybody needs to see it.

I jumped black coming out of the stator to black with a white tracer on the coil. no go. What else should I check before I blame the coil?

Try cleaning the points with a strip of computer paper slid between the contacts repeatedly, and check to make sure that the points are Just opening when the flywheel "F" mark hits the case notch at 12 o'clock. Also try using a test light from the black stator wire to the frame and pull the bejesus out of the starter cord to get the test light to flicker. Last edited by dirtbkr188; 04-13-2009 at 08:32 PM. |
