| Thinking about a lifan motor
It probably isn't the best idea, but I'm thinking of spending a few bucks on a Lifan 125 to use while I finish tinkering and turning the stock atc 70 into an 88(cleaning, redoing most things) I know the motor will mount correctly, but will the head rub on the front fender or tire?

Ive seen the motor in a couple trikes, It will rub the fender but not the tire. most guys cut it short like the FMX big bikes. Im planning on the same motor and will probably do a re inforced rubber flap idea to keep wet stuff from touching my hot motor. (lost one 70 that way) as for the 125 idea, Im gonna do it and there really isnt a better way than with hoopers 125 manual clutch, electric start and kick so you wont ever get stuck some where. its 501 shipped to my door, But im sure ill be happy and I havnt read to many bad things about the motor. I was told to make sure you either get the All up or all down tranny. but due to the distirib's wanting to make them more desirable , they have them "just like your big bike" with one down three up which is supposedly a weaker design. either way your gonna get a head ache inless you do the 88 to the 70 like you plan. my 50 has been great for four years with its Takagewa big bore setup. good luck with your hunting. post up anything you find. |

You should check out SGR USA, he has the lifan 125 (kick only) for 289$. Electric isn't all that, unless you're old.

Just put a 125 in my atc 70 i think my frames bent a little but you would probably have to cut the fender some but it rips now well worth a little fender trimming!

the only thing I see that will need replacing is the ingnition looks really cheap, and the kickstarter and shifter. rest of motor looks good from what I can tell. | |

fender will have to be trimmed and it would makes sense to use a electric start motor in the atc 70 as the kick start will hit the rear fender...... |

I think I'm going to use some fabricating skills to put a pull starter on the motor. I hope it works
