Trx 90 mods

I know this isnt a trx 70 or an atc, but im looking into buying a beat trx 90 for 200 bucks and i was wondering if a regular like gpx motor would fit in it? or what mods do i have for a big bore kit on the honda motor? anybody ever try this...could i put a manual clutch kit on the trx 90 motor? If anyone could help me out, that would be great!

Re: Trx 90 mods

BBK's for the TRX90 are limited to about 114cc, without spending a lot. It's the same bore and stroke as the Chinese 86/90cc engines, so the 107-114 top ends bolt on with minor case clearancing. Tak and other good heads bolt on.

Guys make semi-autos by ditching the heavy one-way clutch on the crank for a fixed gear and using the shift lever as a "clutch". You'd swap in a regular 50 type stroker crank.

Lifan 150 swap sounds best/easiest. You can sell the stock engine to cover most of the cost.

Easiest if you have skills wiring in an electric start engine or have a machinest (or can DIY) to make the pullstart fit on the chinese engine.

A 114 would be much easier then the above for someone without strong mechanical skills.

$200 is a steal for a TRX90. I haven't seen very many of those very cheap these days.

I bought that kit for my Lifan 140, works like a charm, starts first pull.
