Anything can be done. Throw a set of stiff spings on it and your good to go.

Re: can a kx 85 suspen. be set for 175lb rider

Funny you should ask this as I'm in the midst of a KX85/100 pit bike build myself. A KX85 is set up for a 125-130 lb rider according to Race Techs' chart. I just had my suspension resprung for my 150 lb. weight, and left the valving stock for now. My suspension tuner seems to think that the extra 20 lbs. of spring rate will be dampable with the stock valving. We'll see.

For 175 lbs. without gear-- I'd say definitely not. The springs that you'll use will be too much spring for the stock valving to control the rebound. I'd call PR2 and have them set up your suspension correctly for your weight. At best-- it'll make riding the bike enjoyable-- at worst, it may save you from getting pitched.

Won't be cheap though-- the whole process will cost you about $550+ shipping. Hope this helps. --L*64

You can have your suspension tuned by tech-care.com............. they handle a BUNCH of FLat Track conversions as well as SUMO, Minitards for 200lb riders etc.......... they are based in Michigan......

You should not have a problem with tuning that suspension!!!!

Any decent MX/SUMO/FT suspension shop can handle that task.
