| First motocross bike ?
My friends son is 12 today. He's had an xr 80 and 100. He tried a friends KX100 on a track for the first time. He now wants a new bike. I found a like new 2003 KX100. Would this be a good bike or are the newer years much better ?

The KX85/ KX100's are great bikes. I'm not sure how much they have changed in recent years but I don't think it's been much. Also, be careful buying a used MX bike. I don't think I've ever seen a used 2 stroke MX bike for sale that wasn't advertised as having a "new top end".

The KX's and RM's are nice because they have power valves. The KX is even nicer because the parts will work from '98 on, and they can be made into big wheel bikes rather easily which may keep them on the same bike for an additional year or so as the kid starts to grow. --L*64
