kx65's are my favorite 2 strokes, ther just wayy too much fun lol
pinning it/revving it wide open is fine for it, just as long as your not topping it out in 1st gear lol. use 2 stroke oil for the gas/oil mix and use any regular oil for the trans(4 stroke)

Re: just got a kx 65

I have one that I ride the living crap out of. Mine has a Fox Shock set up for my weight, a set of fork springs, Moose set back pegs, and that's about it. I had issues riding it at first too. It took me a few rides to really get used to it, but I can haul @$$ on it now depending on what kind of track I'm riding it on.

It takes a while to get used to, but just take it easy for a little bit, and it'll come. I had a problem going off jumps wide open like I do on my 110. I hurt my shoulder looping it out at first too. Now I never have a problem with it.

Change the top end after about 25-30 hours, run a high quality 2 stroke oil, a high quality bottom end oil, AND! Keep the air filter clean! You can see pics of my ride in the "Small wheeled KX100 Project Starts Now" thread. Watch for pics of my KX100 project that I'm just finishing up. I'm really just waiting for the graphics to come-- and it'll be a go. It's coming out really nice. --L*64

65s have a sight window on the clutch cover, fill her up until you can see the oil level in the window..... 0.6L I think.... not too sure
