| kx 65 too loud for screwing around on?
Like many of you, I love 2 strokes. I used to have a crf50 but sold it a few years back to pay for my 250. my friend got a 50 and weve had so much fun on it i decided i needed another pitbike. The 50 seems a little small for me so i decided that a klx110 or kx 65 would be a good size. Now, my question is, will the 65 be way too loud? I commonly putt around the neighborhood and we have some local riding spots we go to in our suburban city. Maybe theres a really good silencer out there to get it as quiet as a trials bike? Thoughts would be highly appreciated.

it will never be as quiet as a stock 50 or 110. Ive heard of people welding washers onto the end of the silencer to make the hole smaller, not to sure how the bike will run but you could try it if you end up going with the 65.

A quiet pipe will help a good bit but it won't be as quiet as a stock KLX. However, a modded CRF or KLX with an aftermarket pipe is pretty loud too and I believe the sound carries farther than a two stroke's.

^^^^ Not really a great idea. Why not keep a stocker 50 or 110 for the times that the noise is an issue, then get the 65 for when it isn't. You can do a nice 65 for less than 1500 bucks, depending on how much you spend on the bike. You can do something with the suspension for like $300 if you go with cheap mods. I went all out with the Fox Shock, but I plan on keeping my 65 for awhile. --L*64

I don't care what my neighbors think I was simply making a point that 4 strokes carrie further. Funny you say that because we use a generator and 4 tower lights and light up the pitbike track.

| Re: kx 65 too loud for screwing around on? I remember a kid who ran a setup similar to this on a KX65 a few years ago in the woods. It was welded to completely cover the exhaust tip and then had a few holes drilled in it. It lacked power, but was much quieter. I'm not sure if it would be worth it for an adult user just because the lack of power would be even more apparent.
