Need some help tuning.

I am pretty new to tuning these carbs and am having a midrange problem...hopefully somebody can help me out.
It idles fine, seems smooth on the bottom end but bogs a bit on the midrange (right before it hits the powerband), once it gets on the pipe it goes, I can clutch it a bit and get past the bog or pull half choke and it goes away. I am going to pull it apart and clean it out but it sounds (to me) like I need to make some adjustments. I played with the fuel mixture screw a bit but didn't solve anything.
(2002 KX65 with a trackside pipe)

Sounds like if it does better with the choke half closed, then it is running too lean. Havent taken my 65 carb apart yet, so cant answer exactly what, but every other carb for midrange has been a either a pilot jet or needle adjustment to change the midrange. I am sure one of these guys will post up that has taken one apart.....paging Teddy?

I figured it was to lean but wasn't sure how to adjust the midrange on this carb. Pookiebear recommended raising the needle, I am going to try that tonight and see what happens.

Yeah! I forgot about the pipe-- +1 on raising the needle a notch. Don't forget though that you could be mistaking a mid range bog for a low end bog. If it doesn't help to raise the needle-- try a bigger pilot jet, if it's still there, then try a bigger main. ---L*64

Re: Need some help tuning.

With the way the powerband is, it could be a low end bog I guess. When I roll from a stop it pulls fine all the way up until right before the powerband "hit" then it bogs then hits the powerband and takes off. I'll do the needle tonight and post on it tomorrow.
