| Ok so I have a 2002 CR 80....
I still have the cr 80 I used to race a while back and I was interested in building the ultimate mini out of it. So My question to yall is what can and can not be done to this thing. I would love to put a 4 stroke motor on it but not sure about how much trouble that would be. Any info/help is greatly appreciated.

I agree. It's all about how much time/money you wanna spend. You could just rebuild the the OEM engine, swap in a four stroke engine from and XR/CRF, update it with newer CR85 plastics.....

I agree with L*64 man. Stock 80 engines rip. Just put a fresh top end in it, some fresh clutch plates and you should be hooked up man. I think that going the route of shoehorning a 4 stroke motor in there would more work than fun. But this is only my opinion. If you keep it as is just update the springers front and rear, taller seat foam and some higher bars. Oh and those pegs that L* has, the moose ones? You should be golden. Hope this input helps man Justin |

Well I was just wanting to build a fun lil 4 stroke playbike, but the fact that Im in college and working I cant afford to build it the way I want to. So Im just going to sell it and get something smaller. I kinda want to build a 70 |

Well man I would say you could keep the 80 for a low budget project bike. But 4 strokes are a lot of fun dude ha ha Good luck to you whatever you decide... POST THAT 80 ON HERE IF YOU SELL IT!!!! Justin |
