Re: Pipes And Silencers??

It will depend on your application

If its going to be a trail bike, I reccomend a FMF Fatty with a Turbine core 2 spark arrestor

If its going to be a motocross bike, Pro Circuit pipe and shorty 304 silencer

I had my best performance results with the pro circuit set ups but their pipes tend to be thin. I Dented both of the pro circuits that I owned with in weeks of getting them. The FMF offers strong all around performance gains but has a thicker wall for a little better protection

What are you putting them on?

Re: Pipes And Silencers??

My younger son is moving up from a KLX 110 to his brother 08 KX 100. I am putting 14 17 wheels on it and a shaved seat I am looking to put an 85 cylinder head and piston on it. I have a chance to buy a works pro circuit pipe and a 304 shorty for 175. no dents. I m not sureif it is worth it?? He is riding it as a 100 he is new to the two stroke and right now he is scaring me he is really starting to rip. I have not put the 14 17s on yet he is still riding it stock with lowered tubes and a shaved seat. What will the pipe and silencer give the bike?? do I need reeds and new jetting

Re: Pipes And Silencers??

Depending on your elevation and weather you may have to re jet to richen it up.

I would pop the reeds out and give them a once over. If the edges are frayed even a little bit i would replace them. They can really rob power from you.

The pipe and silencer together will definitely make it pull harder than before. If your machine savy I have seen guys make washers to insert in the pipe right where it goes in the header that could restrict it a little? Might help keep it in line for your little one

Re: Pipes And Silencers??

fmf is more just for trails. Pro circuit is more for racing and tracks. so if your not ganna ace i would just slap on an fmf for now.

You probably want to bump up your jets a little. Maybe one or too sizes. Otherwise youll be way lean

Re: Pipes And Silencers??

On the KX65 the Pro Circuit has a much better power curve than the FMF. Comes on earlier and much more linear, not like a lightswitch. Put one on my sons 65 and it's night and day over stock. Much easier for him to control the power and it has more punch.

M&M Racing has dyno run sheets on their site for both pipes and the Pro Circuit is much better.

Re: Pipes And Silencers??

Thanks for all the responses. I think I will get the Pro Ciruit Works pipe and silencer $175 seems like a good deal no dent cracks clean. It should give him better power through out the low, mid and high??? Anyone out there have this set up Kx 100 with the pro circuit works How is is working for you.

Oh yeah Brady917 I have an 05 KLX 110 Id like to move 1050 but I guess I should move this to the for sale posts?!?!?!
