Clean your air filter
by shmalphy 05-22-2009, 10:01 PM

You should do this frequently. Everytime you ride for the most part.

1. close the choke so nothing gets in the engine.

2. remove the air filter. If you have a stock airbox, take that off and remove the air filter from it.

3. Spray with cleaner and let sit 15 min

4. Rinse with cool water

5. Let dry thoroughly

6. Oil with air filter oil, I like Bel Ray, but you can use whatever you want

It is best if you have 2, so you can wash one, let dry, and oil the one you washed and dried last time.

Thoroughly.

I add a little at a time until the color is even. That is why I like Bel Ray. When used with a red Uni you get a purple color. Too much won't really hurt, It will just smoke when you start it until the extra is gone.

Re: Clean your air filter

Mkae sure you let the filter sit overnight after you oil it, I read an article about this and most people just oil it an dthen ride it. They highly highly reccomend letting it sit overnight after oiling.
