    1982 Restore Project

I have a 1982 Honda 70 ATC that has been in my basement for about 10 years or more. I took the rear axle out when I first got it to replace the rear bearing and seals. I have decided to start back on the this project and try to get it completed before summer. I am going to completely strip it down to the frame, bead blast it and repaint. I would like to go back with factory colors if possible. I was hoping someone could give me some information on color codes and were to purchase paint. I know it needs red, black and grey. I have read many of the restoration posts and see that there are many experts on this forum. I'm sure I will be requesting information from many of them. I will post some photos over the weekend.

The trike is completley stripped now. I am going to start bead blasting this week. The gas tank needs some repair, it is a little rusted in the bottom. I took a dremel tool with a cutting wheel cut tank into an upper and lower part. I am going to bead blast the entire tank, fix the rusted out metal and weld back together. I will probably seal the inside with something not for sure what yet. I have a little Por-15 left I may try that, not for sure if it will hold up in a gas tank.

Here are a few pics of the tank before blasting. They are cell phone pics so they are not good quality.

If you have a special edition blue one you should keep it blue. Just my opinion

I split the cases last night just to make sure everything looked good. Will need to replace all the shaft seals. Everything else looked good. Some of the gears and washers fell out but think I can put back in correctly if my schematic is correct.

I split the cases on my motor to add a kickstart, it's not too bad to slap back together

Kick starter would be cool. Is that after market or from a Honda 70 trail bike?

Yeah I used a ct70 kicker and sidecover. I dropped a lifan 140 into my atc70, gonna use the 70 motor on some other project.
