The ZB has a ten inch wheel and a seat height of 26 inches.

***the following is an opinion only***

the concept of value and rarity are too often over-exaggerated and inflated by internet hyperbole

As someone who has eleventy billion ZB’s(seriously don’t you have like 11??) I’m surprised to hear you say they are rare, other than to further the misconceptions of this Honda minibike being unobtanium?

Frankly with the # of ZB’s on Ebay / Craigslist / local online junk selling sites etc.., they hardly seem like unobtanium. (again, you alone have how many??? and you’re just one person!)

All it takes is a bunch of dudes on a message board to talk up how rare something is, and all of the sudden the whole world is in a frenzy to buy the last minibike on the planet?.

For me, if it had been a CZ100, Z50M, GSXR-50, Cagiva Mito etc…(or any bike with fewer than a 1000 in North America) that was being thrashed I’d be upset.

A Honda minibike that sold in the thousands!........................................ .....

Not worth me getting upset about.

    IMO

    Re: Dudes Trashing a 1988 Honda ZB50

the Honda ZB50, Monkey R and Monkey RT was made in less numbers than the Z50M and CZ100.

the Honda ZB50 is one of the lowest Honda production bikes ever made.

The only reason the ZB/ R and RT were only made for 2 years (Japan had the Monkey R in 1987, and the RT and ZB were made in 1988 ) is because the bike was a huge flop on the dealer floor. In stock form, they are heavy, underpowered and weren't practical. Some were still on the dealer floors 2-3 years after they were released.

Want a crappy riding bike? Buy a CZ100 or Z50M. They are the consummate overpriced collector fodder. I restored one and sold it for $5500.

Finding a Mint ZB50 on the cheap is not common. Finding a ZB in general is not difficult.

    Rare? No

Uncommon and collectable with a big following? - Very much so.

Screw the ugly little spuds. If mine doesn't sell, maybe I'll assemble it use it in my newest trebuchet, tossing it in to a bonfire. For the Youtube hits alone

Seriously,,, there are so few motorized contraptions that are a better investment than a savings account.

x2 when ever I see a zb50 for sale it is not what I would consider cheap, but they are out there. I'd be happy with a frame and tank to start with as they seem to be the most difficult items to find, though I do know of a couple up for sale.
