    Speedometer gear removal

I'm in the process of restoring my ZB 50 and where I have pretty much everything sandblasted I'm having trouble figuring out how to remove the speedometer gear from the front brake hub. Anybody else come across this?

It's the gear inside of the hub I'd like to remove for blasting and powder coating.

It could just be stuck to the inside of the hub with old grease, maybe try using a pair of water pump pliers to jiggle it loose while pulling on the pliers.

There are 2 gears that are in the brake plate. One is big and falls out easily. The other is a little tricky. Which are you trying to get out. The second, if I remember right, has a set screw that holds it in....I'll have to try to remember how to pull it out. I think it's splined, and comes out toward the outside of the brake plate.

That's exactly what I'm after. I'd like to blast and powdercoat it with the rest of my parts.
