Midsize Bikes Split up at Raceway Park NJ!
We have had a great first year of pit bike racing at Raceway. It started with pit bikes and we added the midsize class mixed with bigger bikes up to 150cc. These class were called youth 70-150cc and Adult 70-150cc, the class grew enough that we have spit the bikes up for the 2006 season. These classes will be called Midsize 70-110cc and Open150cc. We know there was allot of concern this year with 70's mixed with 150's but the first few races were very weak for that class. The last few had grown pretty good so now we feel we can offer this spit. We want to thank all for such a great year. Rule changes so far:
The first year of Pit Bike Racing was awesome and yes we believe we can make it even better. The races will continue to be held the night before a Raceway Park Motocross Event although we will try not to follow any other Saturday race events in 2006. We don't want to have delays due to a race or have anyone parking out of the pits like at the final round. The number of races for 2006 is still to be determined and the new classes and rules listed below are tentative. The Xtreme Pit Bike awards are yet to be determined for next year, but we are looking to see how many and which classes would be rewarded with new Xtreme Pit Bikes.
One new class we are adding is the adult 50cc Pro Stock. This class will split up the premiere mod class and allow 50cc stock plus riders to join with the limitations of just a few more mods. This class will have the same rules as the Premiere class, but with the following exceptions: 10" rear wheel and a max of 90cc. This is the same class that they run at the outdoor nationals, only the call it the 50 production class. We will also split the 70-150 class into a Midsize 70-110cc and Open class for all bikes with a clutch and 14” minimum rear wheel and up to 150cc.
I believe riders will enjoy these new classes. We will keep the 50cc stock plus classes the same to make it affordable. Trophies will be awarded throughout the series using a 4 to 1 racer ratio up to 8th place. Additional Prizes will be awarded throughout the series as well. We will keep you updated as we receive more info.
