I can try to order a new one $80 + actual shipping to you. Lead time will be a bit and a piece.

well I'm not sure how long a bit and a piece is but I'd be willing to try that if you think it would be less than a month or so. if it would be over two months I'll probably just make my own.

I just need to figure out the angle so I'm not making three or four before I get one right. it's one of those things you can buy cheaper than you can mess with.

I don't know the exact lead time :P. I'll order it. I'll keep it if it takes forever to come in.

    FYI

This Yoshimura manifold says it is in stock in Japan. Since the Kitaco manifold is proving to be hard to get building a custom Kitaco like manifold or trying this may be the only routes available.

The cost of this retail is probably about $135. Little bit steep for just a small manifold but, I am considering it.

It comes as part of this kit from Yoshimura which is $436 from Yosh. I think I could get them for ~$355 by shopping around a bit.

I ordered one of these. It said in stock online. Did not know it existed until a few minutes ago. You may be the ginny pig to test fit this. All are designed for 26mm carbs . This Shift -up one is VM26 like the kitaco but this says billet compared to kitcao being cast and machined

CABRATER KIT <---link to Shift-Up page

May be the perfect Kitaco substitute.

Retail ~$66 for the Shift-Up part here in the USA

I'm trying to get one for myself as well. If you want to pay shipping you can test fit it with your setup and if it works buy it off me. If it doesn't fit send it back. Provided you post some pictures up on the forum

I run one of these with a VM26, Not too familiar with the 28. just have to mind the choke setup on the 26 in my case.

On my 1982 twin shocker I notched the frame for the choke handle. It was a custom mani though. Cut the short tube out on a lathe and welded ears on it for the bolt holes.

the Shift Up does not have the correct angle for the Tak head. I'm assuming it's for the stock head. if you mount it backwards the bores line up but the angle is completely wrong (last picture). even when you put it on the way it should be for the Tak head the angle isn't quite right and the bores do not line up at (pictures two and three). the first picture is of the setup I'm running now to get me by, if the Kitaco intake doesn't work I guess I'll be machining one myself. thanks for the effort.

Now that I see you have a Tak +r head I can tell you that none of the manifold mentioned in this thread so far will work. Now that I see your pictures can also see you are working working on a conversion bike which none of the manifolds from japan are made for either. There are NSF manifolds that will point the card straighter back but it is not a guarantee that is will fit.

link to some pics of the NSF100 tak +r intake kit
    http://www.takegawa.co.jp/pdf/03/03-05-0193.pdf

Bad news is takegawa has discontinued this part

minimob has them listed here. Do not know if they have them
    http://www.minimobracing.com/store/N...170/index.html

CMS also lists them but unknown if they have them
    https://www.cmsnl.com/products/inlet.../#.WP2VUIjyuHs

    other listings
    http://global.rakuten.com/en/store/b...item/10098814/ mani kit
    http://global.rakuten.com/en/store/b...item/10100882/ mani only

To be honest it looks like you will have to have a custom manifold.
I think your carb would not reach the airbox boot even if it is pointes in the right direction with the NSF100 mani. Your intake runner length on your current setup is probably killing a few RPM :P

thanks for the links. Minimob is who told me the Kitaco would work. I will still buy it from you when it comes in. I will call them today and see if they have the NSF one. even if it's not quite right I should be able to modify it to fit. I can make an adapter for the rear to make the air boot and carb fit. my setup right now is definitely causing some upper RPM issues.
