My friend has an ssr 125 that sat for a while and now it won't start. I don't think it is getting spark.
How do you go about diagnosing electrical problems? I think it might be the coil, but it worked fine before it sat so I have no idea.

check the spark, clean the carb, change the plug and push the darn thing down the street![]()
I agree. Try the simple things first. Disconnect the kill switch as they commonly go bad, try a new plug. After that, check for loose connections and finally check the CDI box and stator.
Got it going, it was the carb. It was weird, I was trying to shock myself with the spark plug cap and i couldn't feel anything, but when I removed the cap I got a spark from the wire, so I cleaned the carb (don't know why I didn't try that last week, prolly b/c I am lazy) and she fired right up.
