engine upgrade questions
What are some cheap upgrades I can do to my yx150? I have a Kitaco inner rotor, Kitaco super coil, and Mikuni tm28 carb. Can I get more power from a takegawa cam over the stock? I think that I can only go with a big bore kit and aftermarket head now right?

Re: engine upgrade questions
Do you have the KLX head style yx 150? If so you can do the V2 head or the tb184 bore. A few customers have gone bore only and head only and have been very happy....then later you can add the other.
If you have the lifan BVH style yx 150, you can do the TB import race head...and/or a 160 bore kit.
Everything is here:

I have the klx110 style head and cylinder. So then I can only go with the big dollar items now? Bummer.
What about a different cam though?

Re: engine upgrade questions
I have a good 160 crank for that motor...take it from a 53mm stroke to a 57mm stroke... cheaper than a cam or BBK..

Re: engine upgrade questions
For how much? If I did that I could then put all new ceramic bearings and have the crank balanced and knife the edges! Man I am all ready to try this. Does anybody know if you can upgrade the clutch cover to the daytona style?

Re: engine upgrade questions
You can add ceramic bearings and all that to the 150 crank if you want to spend more on bearings than the engines worth...
I will take $70 shipped for the crank(only ran it about 2hours tops)....and you need a slingerless crank for the daytona..covers and even then it needs modded to work....also good luck finding those covers forsale...I only know one guy that can get them...and he builds big bore motors with them........
BTW the cranks comes with a steel slinger that has been turned and trued to match the crank.
