    Both manufactured by YX Dirtmax.

Just labeled differently for the importer.

Zongshen makes a 140 but I do not think Pitster brands them as GPX anymore. I have been wrong before just ask anyone...lol

I bought 3 of the 140 Pirahana motors from T bolt and they are really nice. Id get the upgrade carb for a few clams more. I really didnt think a china motor would shift as nice as these do. They are not Zongshen. They are YX. I put a cam, springs, and more compression in one of them and trust me you can get hurt Quick! Damm fast motor.

While those are pretty good engines,, the (GPX) PP Z 140 has advantages, one being they oil cool from the case and not just the top of the head, have a japanese bearing on the output shaft , not the china bearing, and the cases are made of a higher quality process.

Biggest plus is the engine comes with everything,, and you can also contact Tbolt to get a great deal on one.

So they they are different. For $50.00 bucks more and comes with a bigger carb, may be the way to go.

also comes with oil cooler and lines, cdi ,wiring ,coil, intake, carb and extra jets, air fliter, clutch cable, throttle cable, shifter, and kicker.. I think that is a pretty good value.

Yep, great engine choice (fellow) Geezer!

Still an outstanding value in a dead-reliable package! Especially if you don't want to be forced to hang an oil cooler or jumper hose on the bike.

The slightly smaller Mikuni isn't a real disadvantage over a Molkt. Also comes complete. $30 shipping, too, vs more elsewhere. Best importer support in the industry, as well, from the gang at Piranha. Three local street-legal CRF50 guys bought them from me a couple weeks ago, and are having a RIOT with the extra power over the 88's they were running

    Once again, Steve...

Maybe all those pre-mix fumes have taken their toll?

I know you wanna keep your dinger addiction a secret, but at least crack the shed door while you're running them... lol

    Re: gpx or piranha 140

I have ben running a piranha 125 and 140 all year absolutly love em both. Not much difference between the two. The 140 has more torque and a little more pull on top but not much maybee a few mph. Both start first kick every time hot or cold no choke! The 22mm mikuni that comes with em is verry easy to tune and find jets for.

I have owned many china engines and these have ben the best yet they r both the newer versions from this year.

    Terry,

Is that piranha motor a complete ready to run drop in? Seems like a hell of a deal for $329 espically with a carb and a 4 speed.

    Yep

If replacing an auto, you need a clutch lever and cable, and a non-Chinese air filter is a good idea. Peg mount and/or drop spacers may be needed if replacing a Honda-type clutch cover motor.

    Re: gpx or piranha 140

    You guys ROCK !

The Piranha is a YX 140cc

We have been selling YX 140cc since they were first introduced with excellent results

GPX , EVOS , G2 Moto , OGM all had a logo on YX 140cc

Now Pitster Pro has gone to ZS with most off the Pit bike engines as well as the 140cc

so the "GPX" brand is a Pitster pro and we offer that 140cc now to and have it ready to ship

    Solid engine with a few extra parts like oil cooler;

We try our best to provide good engines and fair prices.

Let me know if we can help.

    Re: gpx or piranha 140

Oh, and as an update, from a guy that goes inside them, the newer YX 140 contains a Japanese needle bearing in the output/idler location
