    SSR Assembly PROBLEM, front brake

Little brother bought a new SSR 110 pit bike, looks to be basic version and we've run into a problem on assembly. The front brake is offset oddly, and comes into contact with the brake rotor, not allowing the front wheel to be installed period. Pics below... I've looked at it for a few minutes, not sure what to do... figured others had the same issues. Help me out, bummer to see little guy wait weeks for it and now we can't get it together.

Not sure exactly what you mean by ''offset oddly'' but have you tried to slide the caliper accross (brake calipers are mounted on "sliders" to allow them to move as brake pads wear and when brakes are applied). Also when you are trying to fit the front wheel are you trying to slip the rotor inbetween the pads and have you got a big enough gap for the rotor to fit between the pads?. Make sure as well if you have spacers for either side of the wheel that you have the right spacer on the right side if they arent both the same width.

yeah, the pads were spaced fine, and rotor was between them. I didn't get the caliper to slide but I'll give it another shot.. I've built roadrace bikes from ground up, never had this much trouble w/something... .errr

so is your issue that the pads drag on the rotor when it is installed?

Oh ps if you want him to be able to ride while waiting for a replacement part to come in just keep the front caliper off so he can ride the thing!
