    piranha 150 issues

bought a brand new piranha 150 for my stocker. having problems running.
put the motor on and got everything hooked up, checked oil level and all
that good stuff. go to start it up, and man does this thing have some compression
and back pressure. first kick and the kick starter slung back up.
cant get it to idle what so ever. only starts with the choke on all the way.
and dont wana idle nor when i try and rev it up it kills on me. im not a expert on carbs what so ever.
just seems to me like this motor has alot of back pressure. not sure the next step of what i should do. hellp pleasee.
it has a mikuni 26 mm carb on it too

Engine and Carb quick check list - TBolt USA Tech Database!

1)Install Intake manifold to head and carb, oil gaskets and tighten bolts lightly at first then torque then down gradually in a cross pattern to provide a good seal and avoid air leaks

2)Make sure the carb is 100% clean, free of debris and you can see light thru both main and pilot jets

3)Double check you valve tappet adjustment .003intake and .004exh.

4)Make sure your exhaust gasket is installed properly.

5)Make sure all electrical connections are tight and you have a solid ground from the engine to the frame.

6)Check for good fuel flow and fresh fuel.

7)See our jetting guide and do a plug read.

No , Check the Valve lash and make sure your intake & exhaust are sealed (no leaks)

You're not bringing it up to TDC right, and then kicking it over in one smooth even downstroke, that's why you're getting kickback. It also has a lot more compression being a new engine with 3 times the displacement of a stocker. You will also probably have to fine-tune and rejet the carb for your area. Just because it is brand new out-of-the-box doesn't mean that it will work spot-on for you, you have to adjust it to your altitude.

If the timing is off re-set it ,
Alot of things in life are not perfect

Set you Flywheel to "T" mark (top dead center)
then align you top cam sprocket mark to 9 o clock
