steel barrel minimum thickness
hi, i have got a steel barrel that i'm playing with and i'm just wondering what the minimal thickness is for the bottom that goes into casing , is 1mm suficient. This engine only has 50mm stroke it looks like it does not use bottom as the mark from rings stops level with barrel (casing) and does not go beyond into engine casing, any help would be great.

The lower part (which goes inside of the engine cases) of a 52 mm Honda (DRP) cylider measures 54 mm outside, so the wall is 1 mm thick. I think the wall is thicker at the upper part of the barrel, can't check it because it is now installed.

We do it all the time on those cylinders, have not had a failure in that area yet.

minimum allowable thickness, according the northwest sleeve is .015" or .4mm.
