Your right it was 25/22. Well with the 131, VM26, G2 cam and mild porting, this motor feels like a beast. I swapped out the shiftstar with the "fixed" shiftstar from SDG and now no more mis shifts.

I'll sell you this motor back if you have a lifan 120 monster i can buy from you.

    Displacement: 140ml

    Bore×Stroke: 55mm×59mm

    Max.Power & Rotating Speed: 8.0kw/7500r/min

Re: Import Motor FAQ - Long Stroke Mills

about a year ago I started to do some comparison testing and get info, but not alot of people were helping and the threadcrapping just wore me out.

The obivious differences are the piston pin, 13 gpx or 14 lifan for off the shelf pistons.

Cylinder lenght, I think it is 68 and 78.

The lenght of the rod is 100mm for most.

Stroke are 54,55.5,57, and 59 and you can use offset pins also.

Here are some pic of some model testing that I was doing, it represents my lifan 120 monster, 55.5 stroke, 100mm rod and 14 pin. Some claimed they had big bore kits and pistons for the 14mm pin, but when I plugged the numbers in piston pin center to deck height showed problems.

I hope akunar has some pistons for my sons motor.

FYI, Coolster and SSR use Zongshen for their 125s. The new 150cc Motor that OGM, Pitster, Killer, and SSR use YX Factory Motor. Apollo (used to be orion) uses the Ducar for their 125s (they are switching to ZongShen for one bike and Lifan for another). VIVA (Nitro) uses Loncin.

Re: Import Motor FAQ - Long Stroke Mills

A little added info on the TRUE 140 Lifans: The 59mm stroke motors use a 15mm piston pin (the rest use a 14mm pin), and Akunar has excellent knowldge and parts for all of these motors - email "Ben" at Akunar...

I'm currently building a 'square' 59mm stroke Lifan with a 59mm bore hi-comp. piston from Akunar and a 'special' head from same with 24/28 valves. Ought to be a beast. These heads come with really nice ports stock, and a decent cam, but I opted for their 7mm lift A2 grind cam just for fun. I'll try both with 26 and 28 Mikunis and with/without IRK/slinger, and let ya'll know what the dyno says before we mount it up in my perimiter frame 14/12 roller with FastAce AS-02 and BS-66RC suspension...

Prolly gonna go Motard with this bike on 12x2.15 and 12x2.50 rims and some Brembo calipers I found (radial 4 pot in front and super little 2 pot in back - gotta make some mount brackets up soon....). Opinions ???

I know this is an old thread, but being that it's sticky and the question is still pertanent...

    746W = 1 Horsepower

    8.0 KW = 8000W

    8000W / 746W = 10.7 HP.

Somebody else can step up with the Torque conversion... in another couple of years...

You guys are making me wanna teat apart my lifan and check it out...its a 138 marked motor...makes pretty good power but I want more. I will let you guys know what I got. I really like the info on how to improve the clutch with better springs, mine is like an on off switch and I hate it. Keep it going!

Re: Import Motor FAQ - Long Stroke Mills

Altering your springs won't effect the "switch" feel of your clutch. Much of this is caused by overloading or dragging the clutch; the essence of MX riding.

This may seem a little off topic, but clutch issues seem to be a persistant issue with the big bore crowd. So I'll add what my 2 cents (CDN funds) worth here.

You can try this to improve clutch feel. I guarantee it will work.

Remove the discs and friction plates. Measure your friction plates and discs, check for excess wear. If they are passable, wash with brake parts cleaner. Scuff the friction plates with 180 grit sandpaper or emery cloth, pay careful attention to knock any hard edges off of the outer and inner radius of the wearable material. Scuff the discs in a rotary motion around the radius. Wash the parts with brake cleaner again and leave to dry overnight. The next morning, soak the friction plates in the same grade engine oil you plan to run in your bike. Leave them soak for at least a couple of hours. Be sure to use a JASO MA spec engine oil (safe for wet clutch).

Reassemble and enjoy your 'new' buttery soft clutch. Until you burn it up again
