Pitster, OGM, Movert, ect....... cant go wrong with those brands. Also, be sure to search the site and find a good vender to stick with. I personally use Vince at Tboltusa.com He seems to be a good guy. I have been dealing with him since 2006 and only have good things to say about him.

You can nab an ogm for about 1100 but it's the 140sx and for a few extra bills you can have a pister. Don't buy an ssr, i've seen tons of bad on here about them. Best bet if you want something awesome and cheap then buy one of medina bobs rollers and an engine, you'll have to put it together but you pay around 1400 for it shipped.

If you want quality and service look up tdk and buy a motovert. I've rode all three and motovert is top notch. PM me if you want tdk's contact info.

You said it. If you want quality service & a great bike look up tdk, Tommy or Dustin. I bought my motovert from them a month ago and got the best customer service. You wont regret getting this bike. Dont waste ur money on ssr or orion. my 1st bike was an ssr & regret it.

NO kidding man! I bought my vert from tommy and have nothing but steller service and the bike is as tough as nails.

You owned an SSR before and I owned an Orion before and never again. I can't ride an orion after riding a motovert.

I own an Orion X3r and love it. They are very well built. Don't let the Pitster guys bully you into spending more than you want to. The only down fall to my bike is the motor. Zongshen is junk. For another $400 I can have a good motor in mine and still have half what a Pitster will cost.

    Re: orion pit bikes

Yup, that's what I thought too, and 6 months ago I would and did type the very same things you just typed. So I upgraded the orion, new bars, new engine, new clutch/break, new carb, new shock. When it was all said and done I had a much better orion for the cost of a motovert, but not near the quality or craftsmanship.

I sold my orion for $950, saved up and bought the motovert and I'll never own another orion. Here's a pic of me jumping the orion, it was awesome because I didn't know any better. I'm not being mean just telling the truth.

PM me for Tommy's number at TDK motovert and jump on the happy wagon with bikes that don't break.

    Re: orion pit bikes

While I'm sure you are right about the quality, my point is that you don't need to spend the big money unless you really want to. For example back int he day the cream of the crop exotic MX bike was an ATK (remember?). Were they any better than say a Honda, or Husky? Sure, but at twice the price you din't see very many. Is a Bimota better than a Ducati? Possibly, but again the price diff doesn't work out unless you have the money burning a hole in your pocket. There is alot to be said about top notch suspension. I have done my time on a MX track and you can't beat really good shocks. So again I hear you but I don't see the expensive bikes being that much better......dollar for dollar. Besides It's not the bike that makes you faster it's your ability.

Spend what you can afford. Its only a hobby and usually like most men you will never be satisfied with what you have..... no matter of the cost.

Look locally in the craigslisting to save alot on shipping on these things. I bought a used ORION($300)......I do feel like there are better quality frames but besides the frames everything else is an easy upgrade. If you are like me. I get as much fun just from wrenching and upgrading them as I do from riding especially after a good rain. I hate the mud.........lol

    Re: orion pit bikes

Wrenching is inevitable when an adult like myself is abusing a kid sized bike, (trust me I have broken my share of parts) things will break; because they are operating at a much higher level than intended. I have an 08 pitster X2 and will buy a 09 pitster X4 when they come out because thats what I like and want to spend my money on. But my point is that I personally prefer riding on the weekends with my son as opposed to fixing stuff just to be able go riding on the weekends. Percentage wise, I would like to keep the wrenching down in comparison to riding. This is my 2 cents and they really dont amount to much in the big scheme of things. Buy what you feel is the right bike for you! When things start breaking, we will all still be here to give u advise on how to fix it.

if the orion bikes are such a p.o.s. i would like to know wht is so bad about them im about to order two of them they ride good are built good as far as i can tell yes they are a imported bike but i am pretty sure that all the other high priced bike are imported to so that really has nothing to do with it. But would just like to know what os so bad about them.
