    Recommended Oil for Crf50

Just wondering what kind of oil you guys recommend for the Crf50 and where I can snag some....I hate dealing with the local Honda dealership here and would rather hit up a walmart or something, I'm just not to familiar with what weight of oil and if theres a special small engine type or what.

    Thanks

any motorcycle oil 10-30 (I wouldnt put synthetic in it) or maybe 10-40 if you live somewhere super hot...5-30 if you live in the cold etc...

any oil will work as long as it doesnt have that circle logo saying energy conserving....which nowdays is pretty much only motorcycle oil that doesnt have those additives...

then again I put cheap canadian tire oil in my stock 50 for 3 years now (its probably cheaper than wal-mart oil) and has the energy conserving crap and the bike has ran fine and still runs perfect...

I just change my oil pretty much ever couple rides....it only takes half a quart so I mean for the 60 cents worth of oil to do an oil change why not change it every ride or two

Personally on my CRF50 I use Honda GN4 10-30 NON SYNTH. I believe the Honda PRO GN4 is the synth stuff.

Now on my CRF250 I've ALWAYS used Golden Spectro 10-30 FULL SYNTH in the engine, and Honda Pro Trans Fluid 80W in my tranny.

It's all preference, but I would advise to stick with whatever brand/type you originally choose.

I run the castrol 4stroke oil that you can get at walmart or any parts store for about $3.50, it is good enough oil for the 5 hours it will be in my cases... 2 rides and it gets changed. clean oil = happy mini

X3 on the synthetic. Some people tell me they run it in thier minis but I have heard horror stories of burned up clutches

Not synthetic but definately made for a motorcycle... It has additives for the clutch fiber plates.... alot of people burn up clutches cause they don't use motorcycyle specific oil.... They put additives in the oil for the wet clutch style engines for a reason!!!!!!

there a some really GREAT oils out there: motul, spectro... but if you change your oil as you should it can get pretty costly with the high end stuff.
