    Carb identification - PZ19 - Bog help - 4 Questions

    I'm looking to identify this carb, its marked 'Standard of japan' with a K & F above that, It's also marked PZ19 on the side. Its a 19mm.

    I'm running it on a 51mm cylinder (85cc) with a trailbikes cam/intake.

    Having a slight problem;

    Symptoms;

    It's running real good, except I have a massive bog when I quickly twist the throttle off idle.

    Starts without any choke first kick when cold. -- (Almost seems to easy to start.)

    I removed the mainjet and pilot jet, and neither of them appear to have the size marked at all.

    Conditions;

    Needle is in the middle position, and runs the best. (low/middle/top - all feel good)

    If I go 1 notch leaner it seems to help the bog, but it gets very hot and lacks power.

    If I go 1 notch richer it surges really bad, and lacks power.

    Plug looks good. Ive searched around and done some testing, and it seems the pilot jet is to rich. (starts easy without choke)

    At 1100feet - (70F/100F) low humidity.

    Questions;

    #1 - Is it a knockoff of a keihin?

    #2 - What would you reccommend to fix the bog symptoms I described?

    #3 - Anyone have any idea what jets come in this pz19 carb stock?

    #4 - Which Main/Pilot jets will fit it, keihin style?

    I think I have it pretty close with stock jets (got lucky). I would just like to get rid of the bog.

    its a xr70 carb, and your gonna want around a 68 main jet, stock is 62.

    there are small style kehein, super rare, but out there. www.dratv.com has them.

    uhm im pretty sure that intake dont match up properly, idk, take a peek.

    The intake lines up good, I have a black spacer (came off the bike the carb came from) I didnt put on, but the spacer lines up centered with the 20mm port on the intake, and the 19mm port on the carb. Other then the small step.

    Hmm, This carb came off one of those knockoff harley chopper bikes. I assumed china right away?

    You sure the xr70 is the same?

    So the keihin small style jets should work?

    What about the pilot jet, which ones would I need?

    Thanks, five0addict.

    Alright, I took it all apart to clean it, and all be damn the main jet was marked right on the top. Didnt see it before.

    72 Main

    fuel screw is 1 1/2 turns out

    - If I choke it halfway, No bog at all.

    Still bogging off idle, and when I throttle out of a turn, after locking up the brakes coming in hard.

    Oh, the keihin small style jets look to small (short).

    The main jet is about an inch long, with a hex wrench type head, Also has a slot for a screwdriver.

    Anyone have any ideas about the bog, and jets?
