Time to tidy up the 117 !

I purchased myself a 117 & its been sitting around for too long , so I took my 88 out & put the 117 in.

Now after looking at it I thought this thing is looking tired.

Im off to America for 2 weeks so its the perfect opportunity for the painting to be done while im away.

So I pulled it apart so I can get the five o frame & swingarm sandblasted & powdercoated

I have a set of zochies im going to put on in replacement of the speedies , also I will be taking off the wheels as I took the zochie hub & a stock hub to get powdercoated.

The stuff I take off I will be building an 88 with after this project is done.

It will just be a mild makeover really , fresh paint on the frame & swingarm , fresh paint on the hubs , new plastics & graphics , switching over to a foot brake , five o dress up kit , switching to zochies.

Hopefully it will turn out looking tidier than what it is now

    cheers for looking

Yeah it does look like that hey , but as soon as you sit on it the rear end squats & the bike feels good , the low rise on the five o bars make it look shorter too , im switching to slam bars for extra height & width.

Purchased a few new goodies to try & make the old girl look a bit younger

Got the hubs back from the powdercoaters

Bolted the frame , forks & swingarm together & cut a few new chain sliders out of some plastic

I had to get Bean to put some threads into the swingarm

I also got a new front wheel & 200mm rotor off Joner , much appreciated !

    rolling now

Bean had a look at the motor & she was a little beat so I got a new stock crank & a new 88 mod kit as it worked out quicker , cheaper to buy the new kit locally so I could get out riding quicker

I was a little worried there was too much black so I ordered a yellow guard to match the graphics and break up the black a little , got a few more bits for the bike aswell

Looking great so far. That v2 head is a beast. I'm thinking of buying the head kit for my 88 setup I have. I hear the race heads make a world of difference especially with the new TB v2 head.
CRF50- Xtreme frame, take 88 kit, TB 20mm carb/cdi, BBR SP-5 fork kit, ada skidplate, 50 stunt peg bracket/f-r stunt pegs/12 bar/f-r brake arms/gas cap,1 industries graphics/plastics, sano billet throttle, big gun exhaust, TB HD clutch/BBR springs, TB oil pump, ada racing dress up kit, BBR bars, pro wheels with fast 50s hubs/BBR HD spokes.

Got the race head, seems like it would make power till it lets go. 2nd gear holeshots in the dirt, wind it up till it hits the power band, which seems like 10,000 rpms, let go of front brake & I'm fish tailing a stocker 50. Really funny & throws some roost. Said power band more like bands but its got low end torque, then some high rpm pull almost like a 2 stroke but more torqy. I can picture lots of broken parts if you mate it w a manual clutch.
Doesn't TB have an even better head?
Anybody have that on an 88?
