I am running same set up as of recently. I have A BBR CDI on and it has no flaws. Runs great. I run a inner roter kit on my other bike and that works good too. If I had choice of both I'd do inner roter. It does lighten up that motor to save your frames.

I have the takegawa cdi an love it, its been on my bike since like 07 an its still kickin' ..def noticed a difference
