I have these Skunkworx billets on my street 50. I have the 3" Pirelli SL26 mounted, and I have had a problem since day one having them bead correctly. The rear has a rimlock, the front does not. Neither will mount correctly. They mount to hold air and ride, but at high speed it gets really wobbly. The bead is sunk in too far on one side on both of them. At first I thought it was the powdercoat so I removed it all from the inside of the wheel, but that did not fix my issue. The only time I have ever had one mounted even remotely close to right was a very old used street tire I took off another wheel. The guy I got them from on here was running dirt tires I assume 2.50 and 2.75. Is it just skunkworx has a hard time running 3" wide? Or is it the tire brand? What is my problem?

Tired of fighting this, and at the point I may buy a new set of wheels because it's quite frustrating. Never had an issue in my life mounting street tires on 50 wheels and I have had about 10 of the street 50s.

    Some advice please?

How wide are the rims? If they are 1.60, you should be able to seat them. Try a 50/50 mixture of dish detergent and water around both beads and then inflate them to 40 lbs. and let them sit overnight. adjust the pressure after to your preference.

Want a set of three piece Hipers? I've been 85 mph on them and not a bit of wobble. In Dallas too.

Bro I have tried soapy water, windex, lots of air pressure, bouncing it all around while airing, even tried sex lube. Nothing is seating this tire lol

I can check the size and see.

Well it wouldn't be the first time I've seen tubes put in a Tubeless tyre,
Have you tried the infamous backyard special with starter fluid?
Have you tried the Ye old tie down strap right round it holding her tight, whilst sat in the sun for a few hours, then give her good blast?
Tried taking it in to tyre shop and seeing if they can help with the bead seating?
Or another thought have you balanced they wheel?
Sorry about cramming the thread, just seeing if I can help out from across the pond

I've had skunkworx in the past that I ran tubes on without issues. I didn't have 3" street tires on them though.

I also had Douglas Billets and I ran tubes on them with 3" street tires.

I honestly don't know how to run them tubeless. I know you need a stem put in, but I don't know how to go about doing that.

    Ahh there you go!
Go to a local bike shop that fit wheels, ask for some bent 90 degree valve stems, and see if they can fit the stems as you'll need a tool to pull them through on the inside, run about 26psi I'm 80% sure thats what they run on groms,
    Should work mint
